A trip to Hartington Village
November 30, 2016
Artisan producers, Derbyshire, Food and drink, Hartington, Hartington Village, High Peak Trail, Holidays, Local, Market, Peak District, Village,The quaint village of Hartington is just a 15-20 minute car journey through the rolling hills of the Derbyshire Dales. Alternatively you can cycle along the High Peak Trail, cross over the A515 and drop downhill to the village. Animals, Autumn, Derbyshire, Family, Farm, Food and drink, Holidays, Horses, Peak District, pumpkin, recipes,Autumn is in full-swing here in the Derbyshire Peak District; our trees are full of glittering golds and beautiful browns and the nights are drawing in… which means it’s pumpkin carving time! Over the years Apple Day has also helped raise awareness of the provenance and traceability of food, which can only be a good thing. At Hoe Grange we #LoveLocal and Apple Day events have definitely...

September 27, 2016
Derbyshire, Food and drink, Peak District, Wedding anniversary,Do you recognise this handsome young couple? Yes it’s yours truly – a few less laughter lines, a little thinner and not a spec of grey hair in sight! Hard to believe, but this week we are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary – where has the time gone? We were married at St. Michael’s Church, Sutton-on-the-Hill on 20th September 1986. The weather was glorious September sunshine just like it has been this week. As I was marrying into a farming family the wedding had to be arranged around the farming calendar, avoiding lambing, sila...
