For the full countryside experience, use public footways like Limestone Way that will take you on a walking adventure, or stay within the town for Hall Leys Public Park.

Animals hold a special place in our heart at Hoe Grange Holidays and, as a working farm, we welcome dogs of all breeds and sizes to our holiday homes for no extra cost. Your furry friends will be more than spoiled with the array of walking trails, open fields and new smells for them to explore. If you are bringing a guide dog on holiday with you, let us know and we’ll happily guide you towards a dog friendly holiday property that has plenty of space for both you and your pup.

Dog friendly pubs and eateries are in abundance in Matlock. If you fancy stopping for a light snack or cup of tea before you stroll down the Cromford Canal, your dog will be welcome almost anywhere.

Horses are more than welcome at Hoe Grange Holidays, so much so that we have paddocks and stables stocked with bedding, food and water to make your horse feel at home.

Hoe Grange Holidays are certified members of The British Horse Society’s Horses Welcome Scheme, so we know a thing or two about keeping horses comfortable on holiday. The last thing you want to do on your horse holiday is worry about your horse’s wellbeing and that is why we provide our guests with information regarding horse transport and local vets in Matlock, Bakewell and Ashbourne to keep your mind at ease.
