Why not take life in the slow lane? Whilst you're staying at Hoe Grange, one of the best ways to take advantage of our beautiful local countryside is to explore by bike.

We welcome cyclists and with our farm nestled in the picturesque Peak District between Ashbourne and Bakewell, there are lots of exciting cycling routes to explore.

The Peak District offers some fabulous circular cycle routes with varied riding terrain, many of which are practically on our farm's doorstep!


There are bike rides for all ages and abilities, so you can enjoy the spectacular views of the countryside as you pedal along.


If you want a leisurely family friendly bike ride you can avoid the main roads and steep hills by choosing one of the many easy-going trails.


For the more adventurous hard-core cyclists there are some fantastic iconic road routes and some challenging off-road tracks.

Bikes for Hire

If you would like to try out some of these cycling routes in the Peak District but are unable to bring your own bikes along, then don't worry.
At Hoe Grange, we have two adult mountain bikes available to loan or for a fun trip out for two hire our vintage tandem! Or why not join the modern revolution and try our two e-bikes with a + mile range of effortless cycling!


If you want to go Retro you can hire pre 1987 bikes from Glory Days Bikes who will deliver them to your door. The team have a fantastic knowledge of Peak District cycle routes and can also take you on a guided ride.


Bicycles for all the family, including trailers and baby seats, can be hired locally from Middleton Top or Carsington Water.


Go Electric!

If you require something a bit more specialised we have now teamed up with MTB&B who hire out full suspension, hardtail and electric mountain bikes with free delivery to your log cabin at Hoe Grange. Even if you have your own bike this is a great way to try a real hardcore piece of kit!

Inclusive Cycling

At Hoe Grange we have two Boma 7 off-road wheelchairs for hire so everyone can join in the fun!
The Boma is ideal as it goes up to 8 mile per hour so those with limited mobility can keep up with other cyclists.


Inclusive cycle hire is also now available at Carsington Water including the Velo plus wheelchair transporter and the Fun 2 Go Cycle for two people,
or Parsley Hay Cycle Hire also have a wide range of wheelchair and non-wheelchair accessible cycling options, including hand-cranked bikes and trikes.


Accessible tricycles, wheelchair platform bike and electric Babboe cargo tricycle and tandems at Monsal Trail Cycle Hire and Station Cafe.
