Bonsall Carnival - 27th July to 2nd August

A colourful procession through the village on Saturday, accompanied by bouncy castle slides, stalls, games, storytelling, swing dancers and much more. Sunday afternoon is for cream tea, while there is a fun run and lantern making on Monday evening. Visit the beautiful setting of Ilam Park for an evening of fun for all the family. Bring a picnic blanket, and sit on the grassy slopes in front of Ilam Hall overlooking the famous Thorpe Cloud hill, to enjoy a bit of theatre.

Little School of Ecology at Haddon Medieval Park - 6th, 14th, 20th & 27th August

Children can enjoy the simple pleasure of being outside in nature, learning basic identification of trees, flowers, birds and insects, as well as discovering different habitats and finding out about the importance of this historic former deer park in medieval times. The Little School of Ecology is aimed at children aged 5 to 11 years.

Manifold Show – 10th August

Have you ever seen a slow tractor race? If not The Manifold Show is a must, a real highlight for agriculture and rural enthusiasts. Featuring livestock competitions, craft displays, and local produce, the event celebrates the best of the Peak District's farming heritage in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. You may even see Rocco strutting his stuff in the horse show ring!

Cromford Comic Con at Cromford Mills - 11th August

An intergalactic display of models, props, puppets and costumes from classic Sci-Fi productions of Gerry Anderson, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Blake’s 7, Star Trek, Stranger Things, Star Wars … and beyond! Fans of all ages are encouraged to dress up for Cromford Comic Con.

Dovedale Sheep Dog Trials - 13th and 14th August

Wirksworth Festival – 6th to 16th September

From 6th to 16th September, the Wirksworth Festival transforms this charming town into a hub of creativity. Matlock Bath Illuminations – 7th September to 27th October

Aldwark Barn Bash - 21st September

Live music, games, craft stalls, food and hot drinks, poems and storytelling and (of course!) the best locally brewed beer on offer at this exciting event at Aldwark Ales, a short 40 minute walk over the hills from Hoe Grange. 3 - 10pm, tickets £6, available online.

Buxton Regency Ball at Buxton Crescent - 28th September

Step back in time at the Buxton Regency Ball. Held at the iconic at Buxton Crescent, this elegant event invites attendees to don Regency-era attire and enjoy an evening of historical dances, music, and socializing in the stunning beautifully restored ball room. Wirksworth Model Railway Exhibition - 9th to 10th November

The popular Wirksworth Model Railway Exhibition organised by the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway Association is back, spread across three venues in the town. And the big trains will be playing their part too!

Christmas Teenage Market at Bolsover - 9th November

Featuring handmade crafts from artisans and incredible performances from dancers and musicians - all aged 13 - 19! The Teenage Market is in Bolsover Town Square, 10am to 4pm.
