What is glamping?

The word “glamping” is a shortened form of the combination of two words: glamorous and camping. It’s as simple as that!

Glamping is like camping, but with the added benefit of a good night’s sleep in a comfortable bed and an ensuite toilet so you don’t have to trek across the fields in the dark to use the facilities. Nor worry about pitching your tent when you arrive and packing it up when it’s time to go. Our gorgeous glamping pods are more like a cute, cosy cabin just for two: a real home from home with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Scroll down to our glamping FAQ's below to find out what's included.

Glamping Pods at Hoe Grange Holidays: Nature's Retreat

Nestled in the hills Hoe Grange Holidays offers a tranquil escape for those seeking a memorable glamping experience. Our well-appointed and eco-friendly glamping pods provide a unique way to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Peak District.

The Advantages of Glamping Pods at Hoe Grange Holidays

Our glamping pods at Hoe Grange Holidays offer a range of benefits that set them apart from traditional camping options. Let's take a closer look at some of the advantages:

  1. Comfort and Convenience: Our glamping pods are thoughtfully designed with your comfort in mind. They feature a cosy sofa bed, infrared heating, a spacious ensuite shower room and a kitchenette with breakfast bar to ensure a comfortable stay.
  2. Stunning Natural Setting: Surrounded by the undulating landscapes of the White Peak District, the pods offer breath taking views from every angle. Wake up to the sights and sounds of nature, and relish the tranquillity of your surroundings. The over riding comment from guests is that they love the peace and quiet.
  3. Sustainability and Eco-Friendliness: We are committed to eco-tourism and sustainable practices. The glamping pods are constructed using eco-friendly materials, with sheep’s wool insulation and incorporate energy-efficient features, allowing you to enjoy nature while minimizing your environmental impact.
  4. Access to Outdoor Activities: Whilst the views over the farm from your pillow are stunning you can easily explore further afield. Walk up the High Peak Trail or Limestone Way, borrow one of our mountain bikes or bring your horse on holiday to ride the local bridleways.  Our favourite walk is to Hoe Grange Quarry, which is now a nature reserve and a fantastic place for spotting wildlife and fluttering butterflies among the wild flowers.
  5. Dog-friendly accommodation: we welcome well-behaved pets in Swallow pod, but we keep Skylark dog-free for guests with allergies. Why would you leave your furry friend at home when you can share the experience with them too? There are so many wonderful walks from the door to explore, including a pub walks over to Brassington and Parwich.
  6. Relaxation and Serenity: Hoe Grange Holidays provides a peaceful and serene atmosphere for those seeking relaxation. Unwind in the log-fired hot tub, soak up the tranquillity, and let the stresses of daily life melt away. Indulge in a blissful retreat surrounded by nature's beauty.

Q: Are the pods warm in the winter?

Each pod has the latest infra red heating technology, keeping you warm and snug in winter. There are also extra blankets.

Q: Are the pods hot in the summer?

Yes if the weather's very hot but there's a cooling fan for those warm summer nights!

Q: Is the site locked up at night?

No - the gates are open for you to come and go as you please, but to help keep you safe we have security cameras monitoring the farm entrance and carparks.

Q: Can I see animals from my pod?

Yes, our Pygmy goats live in the enclosure near the pods, our horses are often in the field in front of the pods and the farm animals are all around. You may even see some of our wildlife such as foxes, badgers, rabbits, hares, and owls.

Q: Is it quiet at night?

Depends on what you mean by quiet! There is little or no traffic noise, but you may hear the soothing sounds of the birds singing, or hear cows mooing, sheep baaing and chickens clucking. But don't worry, your pod has double glazing and insulation so you can shut out the dawn chorus!

Q: Is it dark at night?

Yes - we live in a dark sky area so there is little light pollution. All our lights are motion activated so when its dark you have a great view of the night sky. If you want a lie in our pods have blackout curtains so you won't be woken by the early morning sun.

Q: Can we walk to the pub?

Yes you can walk to The Olde Gate at Brassington (40 mins) or  The Sycamore at Parwich (75 mins), but beware of walking back over the fields in the dark. Both pubs are dog-friendly.Dog-friendly pub walks

Q: Is there anything we must not bring?

Yes! Sorry no disposable BBQs, Chinese sky lanterns, drones or metal detectors (unless we give you permission) no firearms, drugs or anything illegal.

Q: Can our friends visit us?

Yes - within reason, we don't mind a couple of people popping in for the evening, but no parties and day guests must leave by 10pm. Under no circumstances may they stay over night.

Q: Is it a good place for a stag or hen party?

Not really - we are not a suitable site for large raucous parties but are happy to welcome smaller groups for such celebrations.

Wow! that's quite a list - I think our glamping FAQs have covered everything you need to know! So you see glamping is so much easier than camping where you have to provide all the necessities yourself and squeeze everything in to your car. If you haven't tried glamping before why not give it a go and book a glamping stay in the Derbyshire Peak District with a little bit of luxury?
