We are excited to be supporting Derbyshire Wildlife who have a Butterfly Open Day at Hoe Grange Quarry this weekend. The disused limestone quarry is owned by Longcliffe Quarries and is now a nature reserve for butterflies and wildlife. Why not walk across the fields to find out more about these amazing insects? The Open Day runs from 11am to 4pm on Sunday 17th June. Butterflies conjure up images of sunshine, warmth, and meadows full of colourful wildflowers teaming with life. Cath offers a wide range of guided walks, trek training walks and wild camping for all abilities and her knowledge really brings the experience to life, so we were delighted to be able to offer one of our walled, wooded copses for her semi-wild camping two day walk. Last Sunday the 27th of April, 19 people joined us for the Hoe Grange Hike as part of the wider Peak District Walking Festival. Following Derbyshire Dales countryside ranger Patrick Mountain, the group were lead over the private land at Hoe Grange where they saw and heard lots of wildlife, along Pinder's lane. Did you know that a "Pinder" was the keeper of the Pinfold where stray animals were kept until clai...
