David seems to have spent a large proportion of the last few months down one hole or another. Someone commented on his slimline figure today, I am not surprised he has lost weight with all the physical activity! David digging again! Depsite the hot sunny weather here he is in action again digging the trench across the car parks to take the ground source heating from the pump house to the existing two cabins, so that they can also be connected to the new eco heating system. This is the last phase of building works and we can't wait to get ba...
This week the team from JDB Groundworks have been preparing the car park for the new Rainster log cabin ready for Tarmac next week. As usual we have had some trials and tribulations due to the fact that we are on such a hilly site - wheelbarrowing cement up the steep hill is in itself a challenge, but especially with a squeeky wheel! Whilst sorting out the new car park we have also decided to widen the car park for Hipley to give better access for larger adapted vehicles and guests with wheelchairs. The only things I forgot were the bread bin and toaster ! We also had a little help fr...

Giving the pump house a smart coat David has been busy cladding the pump house with wood so that it blends in with the cabin and surroundings and is less intrusive - it's amazing what a difference it makes - proper posh! Meanwhile for those who think David does all the work, I have been busy buried beneath meters of fabric sewing and hanging curtains. The carpets are now down and the cabin is really coming to life. The sofas ar...
It's amazing that we still have all our hens! I spent most of the weekend creating the decking for the our new self catering holiday cabin, which although I say it myself worked out really well - can't wait to try it out properly in the early evening with a glass of beer! David Measuring up framework for decking With a little help from Michael laying the planks Decking complete - where's my beer?...
