Rainster cabin under construction in the factory Construction work continues on our new Rainster log cabin in the Leisure Ireland factory up in Perth, Scotland. The cabin walls and roof have been insulated with natural sheep wool, the outer cladding has been treated and the outside lights fitted. Pump house sounds very grand and every mansion should have one! Well here at Hoe Grange I have been building our own very small pump house for the ground source heating system we are putting in for our new self catering log cabins in the scenic Peak District. The pipes buried under ground in the field will come up into the new building to connect to the ground source heat pump itself and then the hot water produced will be piped to each cabin in special highly insulated pipes to heat the radiators. After a lot of digging things are at last heading in the right direction - the trenches in the field where the pipes for the ground source heating have been laid have now been refilled and the soil raked flat. It certainly looks a lot better, however the hens will miss their daily worm hunt following me and the tractor along - in fact I am surprised that we have still got our 6 free range hens as they get right under the digger bucket in their desperate bid to be the first to catch a worm!
