Accessible Holidays, Derbyshire, Family, self catering holiday, Tourism,This week we have had some extra special guests staying with us at Hoe Grange; Alan and Joan Howells have been celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary together with their family, whilst staying in our cosy log cabins. As you will see from our photo, Alan and Joan received a very special delivery - a telegram of congratulations from The Queen. The couple both qualified as teachers in 1950 and first met at Pinkwell School in Hayes, Middlesex, when they first started their teaching duties - Joan was paid £280 per annum and Alan £300! T...

Hoe Grange Holidays has been shortlisted as finalists in the National Visit England Exellence Awards 2013. This is the third year running that we have made the finals of what is known as the "Tourism Oscars". In 2011 we won the Gold Award in the Access for All category, then 2012 saw us win Silver in the Sustainable Tourism category. Judges were impressed by the ongoing development of our self-catering holiday business: our investment in s...

In the Peak District many of the independent high street butc...

Accessible Holidays, Awards, Off-road wheelchair, Peak District, Tourism,We are so proud to have been selected a as an #SBS (Small Business Sunday) winner this week by business guru Theo Paphitis on Twitter. Theo selects 6 Tweets each week that catch his eye. @TheoPaphitis then re-Tweets them to his 300,000+ followers giving an instant publicity rush to the small business selected. If only 10% of them re Tweet to 500 followers each, that's another 15 million people who know about our new venture. Not bad for a 140 charecter Tweet that was free! If it then gets re Tweeted again the numbers become unbelievable. Feli...

Access the countryside with our off-road wheelchair We have for sometime been looking for a suitable way for our less able holiday guests to trek up the farm fields and access the High Peak Trail, which affords fabulous views of the Derbyshire countryside. We were enthralled when we found the Boma 7 all-terrain electrically powered wheelchair developed and manufactured by Molten Rock. It is an ideal machine as it has a low centre of gravity, is simple and safe to operat...
