Our fantastic new Boma 7 off-road wheelchair has arrived.
Access the countryside with our off-road wheelchair
We have for sometime been looking for a suitable way for our less able holiday guests to trek up the farm fields and access the High Peak Trail, which affords fabulous views of the Derbyshire countryside.
We were enthralled when we found the Boma 7 all-terrain electrically powered wheelchair developed and manufactured by Molten Rock.
It is an ideal machine as it has a low centre of gravity, is simple and safe to operate with a twist grip control and has large chunky tyres to cope with the rough ground. It is also great fun - well of course we had to road test it before we could let our guests out on their own!
This amazing off-road wheelchair is available for hire to guests staying at Hoe Grange, but also to local people and general visitors to the area, so that everyone can enjoy the great outdoors. No longer will you need to stay behind while the rest of the family goes walking or cycling, just because you need a little help getting around. Now you can join in the fun and explore the countryside together.
It is easy to steer using the light handlebars, and can be left or right hand controlled. The handlebars are simple to remove allowing easy transfer, and there is a four point body harness. Whilst designed for the full time wheelchair user, it is equally suitable for those who just need a helping hand up the hills. It can go up to 8 miles an hour so perfect for keeping up with bicycles on the trail and has a range of approximately 15 miles. It is easily transportable so can be delivered to locations throughout the Peak District.
We are proud to be the first accommodation provider in the UK to offer the Boma 7 off-road wheelchair for hire to our guests and local people. We are sure this all-terrain buggy is going to be a very popular addition to our existing award winning accessible facilities.
