Browse through our blog posts to find out what life is like at Hoe Grange Holidays along with some great ideas for hobbies and days out in the Peak District.
We seem to have had a run of groups of girls staying with us recently who have come to Hoe Grange Holidays to have some fun, get away from the pressures of everyday life and catch up on the girlie gossip!
These girlie groups are always interesting and a pleasure to have around, some of them are even VIP's - Niki Stocken, National President of Ladies Circle, brought her new National Executive team from the four corners of the UK to meet at Hoe Grange to take advantage of the peace and quiet and plan her year ahead in charge of this amazing womens organisation. Niki and her team had a very wet weekend, but as you can see from the picture in true Circle style and in accordance with her theme for the year she still had a smile on her face.
Have you heard of Ladies Circle? They are the sister organisation to Round Table, and their aim is to meet regularly to have fun with friends, but at the same time raise money for local charities. Members can be aged between 18 and 45 and it is a fantastic way to meet new friends and try activities that you would never otherwise have the opportunity to take part in. I myself have been a member of Ashbourne Circle for nearly 15 years, which has led to many unusual experiences, including abseiling down Derby Cathedral - it's amazing how the clock face looks small from the ground, but is actually enormous when you are dangling alongside it! Our most recent escapade involved an evening of team building at Black Rocks - despite the downpour we managed to solve the electric fence obstacle in half the time taken by senior managers and designers in a large engineering organisation - girl power! If you want to know more or find a Circle club near you go to www.ladies-circle.org.uk
Other recent VIP guests include the Director, Producer and TV production team from University Challenge, all girls again! I particulary enjoyed their visit as they plied me with Champagne and I shall now watch with avid interest having heard some of the behind the scenes stories - however I still won't be able to answer any of the questions!
