Digital detox retreats

Have you ever felt like your phone never stops pinging, your inbox is never empty, and your mind never truly switches off? You're not alone. In today’s world with constant screen time and connectivity stepping away from our devices may seem very scary, and finding moments of real peace can feel almost impossible. That’s why more and more people are choosing digital detox getaways and Hoe Grange Holidays is the perfect place to do just that.

A view over rolling green fields down onto a farm in the Peak District, with a small white wind turbine on the side of the hill.

Set in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside, our peaceful, nature-filled retreat is where the modern world fades away, and the simple beauty of birdsong, wide skies, and gentle walks takes over. Whether you're looking to escape with loved ones or find calm and clarity on your own, Hoe Grange offers the perfect setting to switch off and truly recharge.

The benefits of a digital detox outweigh the fomo, so if you love the idea of a digital detox retreat at Hoe Grange you can book your stay here.

Why choose a digital detox retreat??

  • reconnect with yourself and the natural world

  • sleep better and think more clearly

  • be present in the moment

  • reduce anxiety and feel refreshed

And at Hoe Grange, we make unplugging not only easy but incredibly enjoyable.

Disconnect to reconnect

A view out of a wooden glamping pod through a round door onto green fields beyond. In our always-connected world, over 80% of people check their phones within 15 minutes of waking up or even sooner. That means we’re refreshing browsers before we’ve refreshed our minds. But imagine starting your day with birdsong instead of notifications. With sunrise views, not screen time.

Taking just a 3 or 4-night break away from your digital devices is enough to reset your habits and re-centre your soul.

At Hoe Grange, we invite you to truly disconnect to reconnect, with yourself, with nature, and with the people who matter most.

“These last few days have flown without a phone or laptop, pure bliss.”

More than a mental reset

A glamping pod at dusk with a cosy firepit outsideDigital detox retreats don’t just soothe your mind, they offer respite and rest for your body too.

Unplugging gives you:

  • rest from the neck, shoulder, and hand strain of constant scrolling

  • a break for your eyes from artificial light and screens

  • space to breathe, move gently, and enjoy unfiltered countryside views

Magic happens in timeless, away-from-it-all places like this.

Immersing yourself in nature is scientifically proven to boost mood, reduce stress, and improve creative thinking. Pair this with going offline and you’ll feel like a whole new human.

Peace, privacy, and reassurance

A gorgeous vintage gypsy caravan ,perfect for a digital detox Whether you’re travelling solo or escaping as a couple, you’ll feel safe and supported at Hoe Grange. We’re a family-run business with a small number of eco-lodges and glamping pods, so you’ll never feel crowded. And as we live onsite, we’re always close by, just in case you need us.

That’s exactly why we’re such a popular choice for solo travellers, especially women looking for a peaceful yet secure retreat. Book a stay in our glamping pods or vintage gypsy caravan.

“I needed a digital detox…  as a woman travelling alone, security and peace of mind was at the top of my list. Hoe Grange was the perfect choice.”

Take nature walks, not TikToks

A five-bar gate leading to a footpath at Hoe GrangeFrom your front door, you can step straight into the countryside. Follow scenic trails, breathe in fresh air, and watch wildlife wander past your window. Every view is an invitation to slow down and look up.

Walk the quiet country trails, listen to the wind through the trees, and watch as local wildlife; owls, buzzards, and hares—go about their day.

It’s no wonder our guests say they leave feeling restored and re-energised. The peace, tranquillity, and gentle pace of life here help you reset both body and mind.

Here, there’s no fear of missing out—because you’ll be truly living in the moment.

"The ability to take nature walks straight from my glamping pod made it a really special place to truly unwind.”

Could you benefit from a digital detox?

  • you’re feeling low on energy

  • you’ve been stressed, anxious or overwhelmed

  • you’re spending too much time on screens

  • you want to focus on yourself without distractions

  • you need a break from the fast pace of daily life

Then a digital detox getaway at Hoe Grange Holidays is just what your soul ordered.

A natural hotspot for switching off

Did you know that Matlock, Buxton, and Bakewell, all just a short drive from Hoe Grange, have been highlighted as three of the UK’s top ten destinations for a digital detox? With their beautiful scenery, peaceful pace of life, and easy access to nature, it’s no wonder the Peak District is a magnet for those seeking true rest and rejuvenation. Hoe Grange Holidays puts you right in the heart of this wellbeing haven!

Sample itinerary: your digital detox escape at Hoe Grange Holidays

Let this gentle itinerary guide you into deep relaxation and real connection; no screens, no stress, just space to breathe.

Day 1: Arrival & unplugging

dew pond in the farmyard at Hoe Grange

  • Arrive and take a deep breath; your peaceful countryside escape begins now.

  • Put away your phone and close the laptop lid; the outside world can wait.

  • Wander around the farm and soak in the sights, sounds, and scents of nature.

  • As dusk settles, gather by the firepit to toast marshmallows under soft evening skies.

  • Reconnect with loved ones or simply enjoy the solitude; this is your moment!

Day 2: Breathe deep, roam free

  • Wake to the sounds of nature and enjoy breakfast alfresco with our complimentary welcome pack: farm-fresh free-range eggs, homemade bread with real butter and a hot mug of Derbyshire tea or our Rich Rainster Roast coffee.

  • Walk along the High Peak Trail to the ancient site of Minninglow Hill, (a Neolithic burial ground) where panoramic views stretch across the stunning Derbyshire landscape.

  • Spend a lazy afternoon lounging in a deck chair, book in one hand and locally made ice cream from our onsite shop in the other, just watching the world (and wildlife) go by. Bring your binoculars to make the most of the moment.

  • As evening falls, fire up the BBQ and sizzle sausages and burgers from our local butcher (available in the onsite shop), then kick back and admire the star-studded sky.

Day 3: Rise, ride & replenish

view of sunrise from glamping pod

  • Start early and watch the sunrise over the farm fields, a magical moment of stillness and beauty.

  • After a light breakfast, hire one of our e-bikes and explore the countryside at your own pace.

  • Stop off at The Royal Oak at Hurdlow for a hearty pub lunch and a pint, enjoying the rolling vistas along the way.

  • End the day soaking in the hot tub beneath a canopy of starry skies.

Day 4: Stretch, savour & say goodbye

  • Bring your yoga mat and greet the day with a few stretches in the fresh morning air.

  • Enjoy one last unhurried breakfast; take your time, sip slowly, and soak it all in.

  • We offer late checkouts if you'd like to extend that peaceful feeling just a little longer.

  • Head home rested, rebalanced, and refreshed ready to face the world again, one mindful step at a time.

Ready to feel like yourself again?

A digital detox isn’t merely about switching off your phones, it’s about reconnecting with the simple things in life. Trade screen time for real time! A chance to rediscover yourself, tap into your creative side, reconnect with loved ones and naturally boost your happiness.

We love to share our special place, so book your stay at Hoe Grange now and discover the refreshing power of switching off.
