A gift for our holiday guests

November 11, 2015 - A gift for our holiday guests
-Older

We are delighted to be working with another Peak District Environmental Quality Mark Award holder, Coconut Blush,  to bring you, our guests, the very best eco-friendly toiletries handmade here in Derbyshire. We want to make your holiday with us in the Peak District extra special.

We hope you'll love the Lavender and Geranium range that we have selected for you to try out on your holiday. These gorgeous products are handmade from all natural ingredients and smell divine.

Eco-friendly toiletriesJane started Coconut Blush in 2005 when she began searching for natural skin-care products to use on her children, both of whom suffered with dry skin and eczema. After scouring the supermarket shelves and many online shops Jane discovered that lots of handmade soaps claiming to be ‘natural’ did in fact contain unnecessary chemicals and synthetic colours.

Coconut Blush logoIn order to help improve her children's skin Jane became an artisan producer making her own soaps and shampoos and now has a fabulous range of luxurious toiletries designed to naturally moisturise and protect skin & hair.

Their liquid soap range uses vegetable-based, mild surfactant and offers creamy and moisturising bubbles.

Only essential oils are used to scent their products and include herbs, barks, roots and clays to give colour and texture.

The soap bars contain Buxton mineral water, collected direct from source, and Shea Butter & Olive Oil to protect and nourish skin, which also give superior lathering qualities.  They also contain a Colombian organic, eco-friendly, sustainable Palm Oil sourced from plantations who are signed up to the RSPO (Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil).

The high demand for Palm Oil is having a devastating effect on forests and endangered species. This is of particular concern in Malaysia, where the Palm Oil industry continue to burn vast areas of forestry to make way for their Palm Oil plantations.

The orangutan faces serious threat. As their forestry is burned down, they are forced into plantations and residential back gardens where they are unwanted and often subjected to cruelty. It is great to see that Jane is sourcing ingredients responsibly and also using local suppliers where possible.

Like us Coconut Blush have been awarded the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark and Jane is committed to recycling, re-using and awareness of the impact their carbon footprint has on both the Peak District and the environment.

eco-friendly labelThanks also to Bonnita at Bonnita Graphics for designing our lovely gift label.

We #LoveLocal and hope you love our "all natural gift" as much as we do - Enjoy!
