1. The Frights of Abraham
Adventure above the peaks with a day out at the Heights of Abraham this half term. Ride up in the cable cars, explore spooky cavern tours, discover scenic walks full of autumn colours, meet friendly Halloween scarecrows and sample the witches brew in the cafe!
Price: £26 for adults, £18 for children, under 5s go free. Family tickets available.
Accessibility: The cable cars are wheelchair accessible, and the park offers accessible toilets and parking. They also offer a two for one ticket for disabled visitors with a carer. Pushchairs are allowed, and sensory-friendly activities are available.

2. Animal encounters at Peak Wildlife Park
Get up close to a range of exciting animals at Peak Wildlife Park and discover what makes them tick. With Halloween-themed activities and trails, it's a fun day out for the whole family. Weekend activities include the pumpkin patch and Okto-bear-fest. Say hello to our favourite residents, polar bears Nanook and Noori!

3. Spooky fun at Crich Tramway Village
Not far from Hoe Grange, Crich Tramway Village offers an opportunity to step back in time, with its working vintage trams and historical village. For half term, they've got a spooky takeover, with storytelling, face painting, Halloween crafts and a daily puppet show to keep everyone entertained. Children will love helping Witch Way find her shopping!
Price: We have a discount code available, so if you book your stay with us, you'll pay £21 for adults (saving £4.50), £12.00 for children (saving £3) and £49.50 for a family ticket (saving £5.50). Ask at reception once you've checked in!
Accessibility: The village is wheelchair accessible with designated disabled parking and access ramps, lifts and smooth ways around the park. There are disabled toilets throughout and wheelchairs available for hire for a returnable deposit of £10. Tickets for disabled visitors are £19 per adult and £13 per child with one carer free - note disabled tickets only available on arrival.

4. Sparkling evening adventures at Matlock Bath Illuminations
The Illuminations are a fun-packed family event featuring a spectacular parade of illuminated and decorated boats along the River Derwent (weekends only). Entertainment varies from stilt walkers to jugglers to characters from your favourite TV shows.
Price: £6.50 for adults, £5.50 for disabled people and over 65s, under 16s and carers go free. Book early to avoid disappointment.
Accessibility: The event is wheelchair accessible with designated viewing areas and accessible toilets.

5. A magical autumn day out at Chatsworth
Chatsworth is a magical place in the autumn for all to enjoy.
Bring your little monsters to the farmyard to meet the animals and join in with creepy Halloween-themed activities this half term. Feed the animals, visit the pumpkin patch and decorate your pumpkin to take home, enjoy face painting and creepy crafts and more. If you're feeling brave you could even go on a mysterious journey on the spooky tractor and trailer ride - who knows what lies in store?
Don't forget the adventure playground too, with plenty of activities to intrigue, challenge and entertain!
Price: From £10 for adults and children for the Farmyard & Playground. Book online in advance for free parking.
Accessibility: The farmyard entrance is at the top of the main car park. A lift and a ramp give access to all parts of the farmyard. Please be aware that the playground is a woodland site with uneven terrain and a soft bark surface. The paddocks and picnic area are accessible via a gently sloping footpath. There are accessible toilets and Changing Places facilities near the house.

6. Farmyard fun and Halloween thrills at Matlock Farm Park
Enjoy a Fang-tastic Halloween Festival. Discover a spooky woodland trail, meet some familiar Halloween characters, play some Ghoul-ish games, get creative with craft workshops or take to the skies with broomstick flying lessons at Matlock Farm Park!
Pick up a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch, have a go at pony riding and meet all the farm animals.

Accessibility: Paths around the site are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Accessible parking is available, as well as disabled toilets and Changing Places facilities. Discounted carer entry at £7.50.

7. Burn off some energy with a cycle on the High Peak Trail
Get out your bikes and enjoy the flat level cycling on the High Peak Trail, accessible from the farm fields. Enjoy spectacular autumn views from this safe, traffic-free cycling route, and stop off at one of the many picnic spots along the way to rest little legs. Spot interesting wildlife and discover amazing spaces for outdoor play.
Price: Free! You can also borrow adult bikes for free when you stay at Hoe Grange, so you only need to bring the kids' bikes with you.
Accessibility: The trail is well-maintained, with a smooth flat surface. Hire our Boma 7 off-road wheelchair to get up the fields and explore the trail with ease!

8. Pumpkin picking
Head on over to Shirley Pumpkins near Ashbourne for some Halloween fun. With lots of variety of pumpkins to choose from, free parking, and food and drink on offer, it's a fabulous spontaneous day out with the kids!
Price: No charge for entry.
Accessibility: There is a lot of uneven terrain and no accessible facilities.


9. Pumpkin Corner
More family fun at Pumpkin Corner near Ashbourne. Wheelbarrows at the ready with pumpkins galore, there's nothing better than picking your own! Free parking, and food and drink on offer, don't forget to wear your wellies.
Price: No charge for entry, just pay for what you pick.
Accessibility: Uneven terrain and no accessible facilities.

10. Fun on the farm
Last but not least, our Peak District farm setting offers the perfect environment for children and toddlers to let off steam and explore all that the Peak District countryside has to offer. Meet our farm animals, fly a kite from the top of our hills, and drive the toy tractor on our on-site playground.
