Electric car holidays - without the range anxiety!
Switch off and charge up: How we take the hassle out of electric car holidays

As EV drivers ourselves, we know that taking your electric car on holiday can sometimes feel like you’ve added another insanely complicated level to your trip planning. Where to charge? How long will it take? What happens if the charger you’ve found on the map isn’t working when you get there? (We've all been there - eek!)
But it really doesn’t have to be that way.
At Hoe Grange Holidays, we believe your holiday should be relaxing – right from the moment you book. That’s why we’ve made things simple for EV drivers.
So while your car is charging quietly in the background, it’s time to get on with your holiday: sipping wine in the hot tub, discovering stunning views from the local trails, or watching the kids play freely in the fresh air.
Ready to book your EV-friendly holiday? Choose from cosy log cabins, gorgeous glamping pods and even a vintage gypsy caravan right here on our working farm in the Peak District.

Why choose self-catering accommodation with EV charging points?
Sustainable travel - holidays that don't cost the earth

Our EV charging points are powered by the renewable energy we generate on site, including our wind turbine and solar panels. When you charge up here, you're not just topping up your battery but reducing your holiday's carbon footprint too!
When you choose an eco-friendly stay with EV charging, you're helping to protect the countryside you came to enjoy.
Plan less, charge more

Worried about rural EV charging? You're not alone. We've had guests admit they almost didn't book because they weren't sure how easy it was going to be charging in the middle of nowhere.
EV-friendly holidays in the Peak District don't have to be complicated:
- Charge when you get back to your cabin, ready for your next day of adventures
- Public back-up chargers within 15 minutes
- Plenty of car-free and low mileage days out to explore once you're here too!
Whether you're off to explore the Heights of Abraham or stopping for pudding in Bakewell, your car will be ready when you are.
Scenic days out that won't drain your car battery
You don't have to travel far to enjoy the best of the Peak District. In fact, there are some brilliant car-free days out you can enjoy straight from your log cabin door.
Stay on site and enjoy beautiful walks from the door, pizza oven nights, spa treatments, hot tubs and more.
If you want to venture a little further afield, here are some of our favourite low-mileage days out, all under 30 minutes from Hoe Grange:

- Wirksworth (15 minutes): A creative little town full of independent shops, cafes, walking trails and even a heritage railway
- Cromford Mills (15 minutes): Step back in time and explore the area's industrial history, browse the shops and enjoy delicious cakes in the courtyard
- Cromford Canal (15 minutes): Easy circular walks with stunning views and flat paths, plus the option to stop off for a pub lunch
- Matlock Bath (20 minutes): A fun pick for families - riverside strolls, fish and chips, arcades and the Heights of Abraham cable car
- Chatsworth (25 minutes): Stroll through the magical gardens, tour the grand house or visit the farm shop
Not sure where to head? We love providing personalised recommendations that suit you - get in touch before your stay or come and chat to us in reception.
Top tips for your EV-friendly holiday at Hoe Grange

- Charge while it's sunny (or windy!) - this helps us use the renewable energy we're generating on site more effectively
- Unplug your car once it's fully charged so that other guests can access the chargers
- Charge your car well before you need to - it helps avoid that sinking feeling! As the name suggests, the Peak District is quite hilly, so mileage can be lower than usual
EV holidays that actually feel relaxing

Your electric car holiday shouldn't come with spreadsheets calculating mileage or restrictive lists of local attractions to explore based on where the nearest charger is! At Hoe Grange, we've thought about the details so you don't have to.
It's all part of our promise to make countryside escapes that are simple, sustainable and centred around you.
