The 2012 Paralympics have been an amazing inspiration to us all withTeam GB achieving an impressive number of medals, exceeding their target of 103. Highlights for us have been Hannah Cockcroft powering her way to double Gold in the 100m and 200m T34 wheelchair sprints, Ellie Simmonds who was fifth in the swimming medly before the last turn, then swam the final length like a torpedo to finish way in front, setting a world record and achieving a well earned Gold medal. Jonnie Peacock produced a dynamic display of sprinting to take the Paralympics T44 100m crown and Sarah Storey's victory in the cycling road race gave her an 11th Paralympic gold medal, equalling the tallies of Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and David Roberts.
So many fantastic stories that it is impossible to mention them all, however the dedication, drive and determination of the athletes has put the focus firmly on ability rather than disability.
We share their passion for looking for the positive, which is one of the reasons why we developed our business to provide excellent access for all. By providing quality accessible facilities and additional equipment and services everyone can enjoy a relaxing, stress free holiday in the Derbyshire hills.
A little of the Gold rush at the Paralympics has reached Hoe Grange - we have worked hard to refresh and improve Hipley cabin which has now been rated as Four Star Gold at our annual Quality in Tourism inspection last week.
This two bedroom accessible cabin has level thresholds throughout, and a spacious wheel in wet room shower with grab rails. There are new patio doors, a ceramic hob, new curtains, quality cotton bedding, an additional lit vanity mirror in the family bathroom and many more little touches making it a real home from home.

A great thanks must go to our fabulous housekeeping team, Helen, Naomi, Zoe and Emily, who all work hard to keep things in tip top condition.
The report included a lovely comment from the inspector "Underlying aspects of housekeeping - behind furniture, under cushions, low and high level dusting and detailed cleaning of appliances, all excellent. Procedures are obviously rigorous and are being followed. Sincere congratulations are in order to all those responsible - keep up the good work!
"A huge amount has been invested in the properties since the last visit and congratulations are in order on the way the cabins are presented and maintained"
