Have you ever considered cycling holidays in the Peak District?
National Bike Week is a great incentive to get your bicycle out the shed and dust off the cobwebs! #BikeWeekUK
This year the emphasis is on you and your community, encouraging cycling together and having fun. More people cycling in your community will help make a better world, improving your health, your climate, and your pocket all at the same time!
During lockdown any people took up cycling or rediscovered it, dusting off their old bike and have continued enjoying the views that you can only get when cycling. Some for exercise, some for getting to work, or to go to the shops. It's a trend we hope will continue!
Cycling holidays in the Peak District
If you’ve been inspired to get back on your bike why not consider a cycling holiday in the Peak District?
Our cycle friendly, luxury log cabins and gorgeous glamping pods are an ideal base for cyclists of all abilities. You can take life in the slow lane and enjoy our spectacular Peak District countryside views as you pedal along. For cycling routes and ideas check out our cycling page.
Bring your bicycle on holiday
Are you a regular cyclist? Is your bicycle valuable?
If so, our cycle friendly holiday accommodation is ideal. We have a spacious, secure cycle shelter, as well as a maintenance stand and wash down facilities. We provide a selection of route maps for both short and long bicycle rides, and there are plenty of off-road trails and routes from the doorstep.

Family cycling holidays
We have bike rides for all ages and abilities, whether you want a casual bike ride along the many traffic-free trails or more of a challenge along the rugged off-road bumpy tracks.
Hoe Grange is ideal for family cycling holidays as you can access the High Peak Trial directly from the farm. There is no traffic and the trail is relatively flat, so it’s perfect for little ones. Pack up your own picnic and stop off to have some family fun and enjoy the panoramic views.
If you’ve only got room to bring the children’s bikes on holiday you can borrow our two adult mountain bikes free of charge when you arrive.
Leisure cycle routes
For longer leisure rides there are circular routes, including Carsington Water and our Hoe Grange Cycles, Cafes and Castles cycle route, along quiet country lanes and through quaint villages.
If you are worried about your fitness you can take things at a more leisurely pace and hire our electric bicycles to whizz up the hills. Check out our map of places to cycle to and where to stop off on route.
It’s always good to try something you have never done before, so for a bit of fun why not hire our tandem bike? It will certainly test your co-ordination and relationship!

Road cycling
If you are a regular, long distance cyclist and want more of a challenge the Peak District offers some iconic road cycling routes with steep inclines. Once at the top you can catch your breath and admire the stunning views.
Mountain bike holidays
There are plenty of more extreme tracks for avid mountain cyclists. The Peak District offers some off the beaten track, rugged routes to really test your fitness and stamina. After a long hard days bike riding you can relax in our log-fired hot tub to ease any aching muscles!

Guided Tours
To get the best experience and make the most of your time, why not take a guided tour? For something a little different you can go retro with a road bike tour with Glory Days on vintage bicycles. If you want a more challenging mountain bike experience opt for MTB&B

These guide teams have done the hard work for you and know all the best places. They have researched, tested and considered every aspect of your adventure so your day is packed with epic scenery, delicious local food and fantastic company.
Riding your bike is a fantastic way to keep fit and active. Cycling is a good cardio workout with less strain on your knees than running. You can travel further afield and enjoy the countryside views as you pedal along. Getting outdoors in the sunshine not only boosts your vitamin D levels, but is great for your mental well-being too.
We hope this has inspired you to get back on your bike! Your next cycling adventure starts here when you book your holiday at Hoe Grange!
