Every week throughout the summer there are lots of lawns to mow here at Hoe Grange, as all of our self catering log cabins have their own garden area. David spends several hours mowing on a Friday, but this week swopped his usual little lawn mower for something slightly bigger as "one man went to mow, went to mow a meadow"! Our two tractors used to tow the new Daisybank cabin into place last week have been back in action on the farm today as David has been muck spreading. Just in case you thought he never did any farm work I thought I would post up a few pictures! A miserable damp day in the Derbyshire hills, but digging the foundations for the new log cabin has finally resumed now that the snow has disappeared. Once the big digger had finished removing the large stones, David swung into action with his laser to check the levels ready for concreting tomorrow - let's hope the weather holds. A fantastic crisp winter's day, perfect for a little digging! The diggers move in again, this time to start the foundations for our new log cabin Daisybank. As we are digging into the hill side more this time and knew it was a bit rocky we went for a bigger digger - this 13 tonne tracked machine should be the boss of the job. Digging for Daisybank That is until you hit very big rocks... The driver did manage to roll them about, but will have to come back on Monday with a rock breaker, we will also have to break a few bits out that won...
