A small selection of photos from yesterday eveningย  as our new Rainster self catering log cabin was carefullyย hauled into placeย - see more on pictures on our Hoe Grange Holidays Facebook page.ย Top marks to the team from Island Leisure who were calm, competentย and worked hard to finish the installation before dark. David Unloading first half off lorry Pulling power - first half of cabin up the hill Backing into place on foundations - is it the right way round? on a knife edge - don't rock the boat! tight squeeze for second larger half...

Both halves of new cabin ready to roll Our new Rainster log cabin leaves the Leisure Island factory in Perth ready for the long trip down the motorway to the Derbyshire Peak District. It should arrive here around four o'clock this afternoon. More later! Felicity...

sledge hammer swings into action! Ooops -ย the gate into the cow yard is too narrow for the cabin to squeeze through so David is out with the sledge hammer knocking the wall down to widen the gateway ready for tomorrow! Felicity...

Such excitement! Our newย self cateringย Rainster cabin has emerged from the Island Leisure factory in Perth and been loaded onto the low loader, ready for the long trek down the motorway to Derbyshireย - so if you're on the M6 on Monday give it a wave as it passes by. It's amazing to think that the cabin isย more or less complete with fitted kitchens, bathrooms, electrics, radiators etc,ย so that it will be almost ready to roll when it arrives. The team from Leisure Island willย join the two halves together andย connect the services and all ...

Spring work at Hoe Grange Farm Inbetween all the preparations for the arrival of the new self catering log cabin David has been busy farming and trying to keep on top of the Spring work at Hoe Grange. It is vital to get the fields in shape at this time of year, including chain harrowing to rip out the dead grass and aerate the sward, allowing the younger grass to come through quicker. It also levels out molehills, flattens uneven ground where cattle have trodden up the mud and breaks up and distrib...
