Testimonials for Hoe Grange Holidays from guests in 2006/2007

"To go on holiday as an adult with my own horse and some likeminded friends has been my ambition for many years. So I am delighted to report that our recent holiday at Hoe Grange has exceeded all our expectations.

We received a warm, friendly welcome from Felicity and David and our horses settled in as though they had lived there forever. The self-catering cabins were clean, wonderfully well appointed and furnished to a high standard. The whirlpool bath was big enough to get lost in, and a very welcome sight after a hard days riding.

And as for the riding? Well if you enjoy full days in the saddle with miles of off-road riding then this is the holiday for you. Directly from Hoe Grange is access to safe, countryside routes of between two and three hours with no roadwork involved. For the more ambitious rider there are longer circular routes of between six and seven hours, which do involve some short sections of road work, but provide access to stunning countryside and yet more safe, off-road riding.

Well done Hoe Grange, and looking forward to our return visit in September"

Our first guests in February bought their own horses on holiday and enjoyed it so much they recommended us to their sister who visited us later in the year!

"The accommodation was 5 star and we felt thoroughly at home. The whirlpool bath was very popular. Everything for the horses was great and they seem to have been very happy. We look forward to seeing you again and spreading the word about Hoe Grange"

"David and Felicity should be commended for the top rate accommodation and excellent hospitality. The location is idyllic; the log cabin is beautiful and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The children have enjoyed all the animals especially watching the cows being milked. We will be re-booking!"

"The most luxurious holiday accommodation fantastically equipped, no expense spared and in such a perfect setting. Our children are very sad to be leaving. Thank you for allowing them to watch the milking so many times! All in all the best family holiday we've ever had"

"Had a fab working holiday with a disabled gentleman. Accommodation had everything we needed a real home from home- spotlessly clean. A very warm welcome from David and Felicity nothing would seem too much trouble."

Calves at Hoe Grange

The cabin is beautiful, the verandah is a lovely place to sit of an evening with a glass of wine and admire the views, and drink in the peace and tranquillity. To be able to arrive at self-catering accommodation and not have to think about anything except what to wear and when/where to eat was fantastic. You appeared to have thought of everything to make us feel comfortable from the minute we arrived to the minute we left.

Thank you David, Felicity and family for making us feel so welcome. We have already recommended you to friends who want to visit the Peak District and we will continue to do so. We look forward to staying again in the future.

Best Wishes

Nick, Bev and Nathan Yeovil, Somerset - August 06

Really Awesome! Home from home in beautiful setting. Excellent for the kids, particularly the close proximity to the moos and neighs!!! A great place to get the full farmyard experience without getting up at the crack of dawn. The Hull visitors will definitely be back, the South Africans will dream of returning one day!

Nick and Sal and family Hull - August 06

Loved having the animals so nearby and watching the first steps of the newborn calves. Number 37 let me down as I was convinced she was going to give birth before we left. Would love to come again with the grandchildren"

Garry and Rose South Repps, Norfolk - August 06

Superb riding facilities fields and bridleways endless! Can't wait to bring Arnie, Toscar and Harvey back again.
Roseanne Widnes - September 06

Hot Air BalloonsSuper accomodation - 5 star as far as balloonists are concerned!

We might have arrived on Friday 13th but still managed to break the world record for the largest number of one man hot air balloons taking off together at the Izaak Walton - 32Cloud hoppers - Quite a sight!

It was a treat to be able to wake up to the sight of our horses. The hacking was fantastic, and we all had a great weekend. The welcome we received was so friendly - we would like to say a huge thank you and we would recommend Hoe Grange to everyone. Our horses were so chilled out. (They brought 8 horses with them!!)

"Thank you for a wonderful short break. The cabins are superb! There are so many thoughtful touches to what you've provided (it's more than a "Welcome pack", rather it's an "everything you'll need pack" ). It's been a complete pleasure to stay here and we look forward to bringing the whole family back.

Jon and Caroline - Lincoln - April 2007

Some people just don't know how to relax - this group of mountain bikers cycled several 30 and 40K routes straight from the doorstep!

Many thanks for great facilities - we go mountain biking every year and this is the BEST accomodation we have stayed in. Thanks for the lift in to Ashbourne on Saturday night.

Mick, Richard, Techno, and Mush - May 07

Thank you so much for everything. We came to Hoe grange for peace and quiet and to relax. The view was fantastic, the cabins so cosy and easy to keep clean. We really enjoyed watching the cows and calves being born. I have taken loads of photos so we will have a laugh in the cold winter months!

Ron, Sheila, Geroge and Jean - Birmingham - June 07

Thank you very much for your hospitality. The cabin was all we could ask for and better. We've stayed in lots of cottages in the countryside before, but none as pleasurable as this one. We only wish we could have stayed longer - we will do next time!

Steve and Debbie - Liverpool - June 07

A HUGE thank you to David and Felicity for making us so welcome. Savannah enjoyed her 4th birthday and felt so at home she awoke in the middle of the night and pleaded to stay at the farm!

Our horses Zak and Hammish settled really quickly and we enjoyed some lovely hacks along the trail. Thank you to Felicity for taking us out too! The staff at Middleton Top were very friendly and the horses were happy to be tied to a tree whilst we enjoyed a nice hot drink. We are already talking about when we can return!

Steve, Hannah-Marie, Sophie-Nicole, Savannah, Zak and Hammish

Melton Mowbray - July 07

Excellent in every way!

First class accomodation,

Superb location,

This vacation exceeds expectation!

Many, many thanks, we will surely return!

Ann, Chris, Tania and Caroline - Oxford and Cornwall - July 07

Your holiday accommodation was absolutely fantastic. We arrived to celebrate Trevor's 40th birthday and planned on sleeping in, hiking, eating out and relaxing. All of which were done while staying at your lovely, very well equipped and gorgeous location.

Your recommendations of restaurants was bang on, absolutely wonderful and we can't say enough of your thoughtfulness in arranging a great birthday evening at Carriages. Brilliant!

We would have stolen Twixie, your gorgeous choc lab pup, but figured her puppies will be adorable next time we come!   Thanks for such a wonderful time. Your hospitality, well equipped cabins, bonfire, and fresh flowers and bread were such a treat. Looking forward to coming back!
