At Hoe Grange our environment is very precious,
with beautiful unspoilt views of the stunning Derbyshire Peak District, and no noise or light pollution.
You can get a stunning view of the bright starlit skies on a
clear night.
Ever mindful of preserving our own environment and the need
to minimise pollution everywhere, we try to play our part by
being eco friendly, and making it easy for our guests to recycle
rubbish, whilst on holiday in our self catering log cabins.
Try us out for a wonderful eco self catering holiday!
See our Eco
and Sustainability Policy for more details and some handy
Eco hints and tips.
Experience our fabulous countryside for yourself and download our "Hoe Grange Time Travellers Trail", a moderate 8 mile route suitable for walking, cycling or riding; a fascinating journey back in time steeped in local history.

Hoe Grange Holidays supports Friends of the Peak District by participating in their Peak Pound Partnership Scheme. We encourage guests to help protect the landscape of the Peak District National Park by donating just £1.
FPD are an independent charity (Charity No: 1094975) whose vision is of a living, working Peak District that changes and evolves over time, yet remains beautiful forever. FPD support local initiatives, respecting both local communities and Peak Park visitors. We see it as a way of safe guarding our special environment for future generations and hope you will agree.

In addition we have a compost heap for organic kitchen waste.
In the kitchen you will also find a range of environmentally
friendly, phosphate and chlorine free cleaning materials and
detergents. Such "green" cleaning products are equally
effective as traditional ones; so why not give them a try during
your stay with us?
Instead of buying bottled water try our Hoe Grange water direct from our very own borehole, clear and clean with nothing added!
Not only does this save money, but it saves the earth’s
resources by avoiding the need for plastic bottles, and avoiding the carbon emissions produced from abstracting and transporting this very heavy product around the country - water miles are worse than food miles!
Energy usage is carefully monitored and we would ask you to
turn off all lights and appliances before you go out for the
day to enjoy the spectacular Peak District scenery. To save energy,
whenever practical, bedlinen and towels are dried on the line
outside, rather than in the tumble dryer. We also use low energy
light bulbs where possible and the outside lights have PIR's.
This means there is no light pollution and you can get an amazing
view of the night sky on a clear evening; particularly stunning
when viewed from our traditional Swedish log-fired hot tub!
Give the car a break during your holiday with us
and explore the spectacular Derbyshire countryside on foot, or
by bicycle. The variety of landscape in the Peak District is vast and there are some
fantastic short circular routes for all the family, or plenty
of rugged terrain for those who want more of a challenge.

Tranpsort details can be
found at www.traveline.org.uk and there are bus timetables available in the cabins. Derby has
the nearest main line railway station, and there are also stations
at Cromford and Matlock - plan your journey at www.nationalrail.co.uk or www.transportdirect.info
