want to make everyone's holiday stay as enjoyable as possible. Hipley
cabin is rated under the National Accessibility Scheme and has
been awarded Mobility Level 2, (M3 assisted under the revised gradings) Hearing Level 1 and Visual Level
1. The new Rainster cabin will have the same excellent wheelchair accessible layout.
Looking for self catering disabled holidays can be difficult, but don't worry, if you have any special requirements please contact us to
discuss your individual needs and we will do our best to fulfill
them. Everyone is different, so please don't be afraid to ask
us for information or to provide something new! We are here to
help you make the most of your stay in the spectacular Derbyshire Peak District .

We are delighted to have received the Enjoy England Excellence Bronze Award for "Access for All" which demonstrates our committment to providing high quality accommodation and facilities for everyone. Try our luxurious log cabins for yourselves - we think you will agree with the judges!
We are also members of Tourism for All UK, a national charity dedicated to making tourism welcoming to everyone; those with disabilities of any sort, older people, carers of young people or older relatives. We aim to ensure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable stay with us, including your working dog!
Both Hipley and Rainster Cabins have been designed to allow easy access for all, including
those with disabilities and wheelchair users.

Mobility
To provide easy access for those with limited mobility, Hipley
cabin has easy access ramps from the tarmac car parking space,
level thresholds throughout the cabin, and adequate space to
manoeuvre wheelchairs. The cabin can accommodate up to two wheelchairs
quite easily. The shower room is specifically designed as a wet
room with grab rails, and has an adjustable shower head with
thermostatic control. The toilet has a fixed wall mounted rail
on the right hand side and a drop down bar on the left hand side.
All taps in this cabin are lever operated. There is a high back, high seated comfortable armchair for those who find it difficult to get up from a low soft sofa.

A mobile shower/commode chair, (with brakes on all wheels and removable arms for ease of transfer), a shower stool, bath boards, toilet seat riser
and bed raisers are all available to book at no extra charge. Please request equipment required at time of booking.

New for 2010 there is an EZ adjustable bed rail, which can be attached to any of the beds, in any cabin. The sturdy rail is adjustable up to 42″ in length, whilst fitted to the bed, and allows for use as both a bed rail to prevent falling out of bed, or as a hand rail to assist guests getting in and out of bed. The rail can also be pivoted down, by releasing two clips, allowing the user to swing thier legs over to get out of bed.
To make life even easier we now have an Oxford Advance mobile
hoist which can be hired at a cost of £15 per night. Please note guests need to
provide own sling and hoist must be booked in advance.
This compact battery operated Oxford Advance hoist is easy
to use and has a push footpad which reduces the force needed
to initiate movement. The oversized handles provide increased
control allowing easy transfer from floor to bed, wheelchair
to shower chair or sofa etc.
| Electric Profile Bed Hire |
There is an electric profile single bed with memory foam mattress available for hire at a cost of £5 per night. The single bed has an adjustable frame allowing independent operation to support the five key areas – neck, back, hips, knee and head, and is ideal for those who need assistance to sit up, or for those with breathing difficulties or circulatory problems. Please note the bed does not raise up and down in height, but can be elevated using bed blocks.

The profile bed is one of the single beds in the twin room in Hipley cabin, but where necessary the second bed can be removed and furniture can be rearranged to allow full access from either side.
Assistance Dogs
Although we do not normally allow pets in the cabins we do
welcome guide dogs and assistance dogs in Hipley cabin. There is ample room for
them to walk and exercise, so that they too can have a holiday.
Visual
For those with visual impairments the door frames and skirting
boards, door handles, and hand rails are of contrasting colours.
To aid vision there is a good level of lighting throughout, including
external lights.

and a portable door chime is available on request.
Our
access statement is available on request, with copies in large
print if required. David and Felicity have both attended the Welcome to Excellence
training course "Welcome All". Outline plans of the
Hipley cabin with measurements are also available. Please do
not hesitate to e-mail or telephone us to discuss your individual
requirements, and we will do our best to fulfil them, and make
your holiday a happy one! Click on Testimonials to read what previous guests have to say about us
